Welcome to Circle of Love Inside!

Who We Are

We are volunteers who love and are inspired by Amma, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi.  Amma is a saint from India who is known for unconditional love and humanitarian service.   She hugs and blesses each person who comes to her in sessions lasting from 5 to 22 hours.  In addition, she encourages us all to lovingly serve those in need.   Amma calls all people her children.  Thus she has taken us into her family.

Our Goal

Our goal is to bring Amma and the ideal of unconditional love and service to brothers and sisters who are incarcerated.  We aim to show the same love and dedication that Amma has shown to us, to the best of our ability.  We support these brothers and sisters in their own religious or spiritual tradition and in personal growth toward a better life.   Although we may write about love, the development of romantic relationships is not part of our work.  The brothers and sisters to we contact are part of Amma’s family and we will encourage and support them in and out of prison for as long as they wish to have that support.

What we do

When we write to brothers and sisters who are in prison, we encourage them to use their time in prison for spiritual and personal growth.  We send spiritual books especially those about Amma and her work to individuals in prison who request them.  We also place these books in prison libraries so that others can come to know about Amma and her mission.  We bring teachers of IAM (Integrated Amrita Meditation) into prisons.  In connection with all these services, according to longstanding policy, we do not give money to those to whom we write and send books. When possible, we visit those in prison and lovingly encourage growth toward a better life.

Do you know anyone who would enjoy receiving our letters and books?

Please send names and addresses, including your own to the Director - Circle of Love via the 'Contact Us' menu in the top.
